ARE YOU SURE THE AGENCY IS CLLA CERTIFIED?

Over the last thirty plus years through  the efforts of the Commercial Collection Agency Association (CCAA) and its members the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA) Certification and the Seal of the Association have become important attributes that the business credit community uses in selecting collection agencies with whom they will do business.  (Click here to view the reasons why you should do business with a CLLA certified agency.)

Unfortunately, some collection agencies have tried to benefit from that success either falsely stating that they are a CLLA Certified Agency or implying that they are.

Through the good efforts of those in the business credit community we have been advised of many of these unauthorized representations. We thank the business credit community for their assistance.

We have added this forum to our website to assist those in the business credit community to quickly identify collection agencies that have illegally or inappropriately usurped the intellectual property of the CLLA and the CCAA.  Please remember, if an agency is not listed in the Member Directory on this website, they ARE NOT a CLLA certified agency.

When we are advised of inappropriate activity, we confirm that indeed the activity is taking place and seek to resolve the matter with the agency.  If the agency does not respond or does not agree to resolve the matter we post the name of the agency and their infraction in this forum to advise the business credit community.

The following agencies have FALSELY indicated they are a CLLA Certified Agency or member of the CLLA and have not responded or failed to resolve the matter.

Advanced Recovery Services, Inc.  Blue Bell , PA.    States they are a CLLA member.  This is a false statement.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of the CCAA or CLLA.

Corporate Recovery Bureau, Rialto , CA & Nashville , TN.    They state that they are a CCAA member and certified.  This is a false statement.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

CitiGlobal Collection Agency Co. Ltd. New York , NY .  The agency states:  “A founding member of the Commercial Collection Agency Association section of the Commercial Law League of America . . .”  This is a false statement.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Colorado Commercial Services, Wheatridge, CO.  This agency altered a CCAA Certificate of Bond Coverage removing the name of the CCAA member and inserting Colorado Commercial Services.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Construction Collection Specialists, Inc.  Phoenix , AZ.    This agency indicates they are affiliated with the Commercial Law League of America .  This is a false statement.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

EAST – COLLECT – London , England .  This agency alleges it has an agreement with CCAA. They state on their website that this ‘agreement’, “rounds out our regional capability in North America .”  On their website they have hyperlinked to the CCAA website without our permission.  This agency is not a CLLA Certified Agency and no agreement exists between it and the CCAA.

FX Collections. New York , NY .  This agency states: “As such we are an active participant of the Commercial Collection Agency Association . . .” They also display the CCAA Seal.  This is a false statement and the improper use of the CCAA Seal.   They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA. 

George, Kennedy & Silverman, LLC.  – Houston , TX .  This agency obtained and altered a Bond Certificate of a CCAA Member, to falsely show them as the holder of that Certificate and a Member of the Commercial Collection Agency Association (CCAA).  They failed to comply with the requests of the Commercial Law League of America (CLLA) and the CLLA has subsequently sued them for violations of intellectual property laws.  The CLLA has secured a judgment against the agency and its principals.  This agency is not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Integrated Receivable Processing.  Agoura Hills , CA .  This agency states:  “IRP is certified by the Commercial Law League of America , Commercial Collection Agency Association.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.”  This is a false statement.   

Lawson, Alexander & White,  LLC.  Houston , TX .  They are using the Commercial Law League seal on their website.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Merchants Recovery Solutions.   Phoenix , AZ.    This agency states they are an active member of the Commercial Collection Agency Association of the CLLA.  This is a false statement.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Sonatrac Financial LLC, Houston , TX .  This agency displays on its website the Seal of the Commercial Collection Agency Association.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Wolf Recovery Systems, Baytown , TX .  This agency displays on its website the Seal of the Commercial Collection Agency Association.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

The following agencies have either used CCAA/CLLA copyrighted materials; have linked to the CCAA or CLLA websites without our permission OR IMPLIED MEMBERSHIP IN CCAA OR CLLA.  BY THESE ACTS, You should NOT assume that these agencies are affiliated with the CLLA or the CCAA and ARE CLLA certified.

CI (Creditors Interchange).  Buffalo , NY .  This agency is using the Collection Trends, Collectability Table, without our permission.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Debt Recovery Bureau, LLC.  Pensacola , FL.    This agency is linking to the CCAA website without our permission. They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Eastern Liberty Services, LLC.  Sunnyside , NY .  This agency is linking to the CCAA website without our permission.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Ethan & Associates, Mandeville , LA.    This agency has the following statement on their website: “We adhere to the highest code of ethics, characteristics which are required by The Commercial Collection Agency Section of the Commercial Law League of America . . .”  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Harvest Recovery Service, Blue Bell , PA.    This agency has the following statement on their website: Collection Tips, Assign to Collection.  Use a collection agency with the proper credentials, this will insure that you are dealing with professionals that subscribe to the code of ethics set forth by the Commercial Collection Agency Association.”  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Martini, Hughes & Grossman, Delray Beach , FL.    This agency is using the Shrinking Dollar Flyer, without our permission.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of the CCAA or CLLA.

Steven & James, Inc.  Dover , DE . This agency is using the Collection Trends, Collectability Table, without our permission.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.

Turner & Turner Collection Specialists, Inc.  Staten Island , NY .  This agency is using on their website the Collection Trends, Collectability Table.  They are not a CLLA certified agency, a member of CCAA or CLLA.
